A hail claim feels complicated the first time, but it follows the same path almost every time. Here's the whole process, step by step, the way it works at our shop.
Step 1: Right after the storm, take photos
Once it's safe, photograph each panel: wide shots, then close-ups at an angle. Note where the car was parked and when. Shallow hail dents are hard to see in flat light, so don't worry if the photos don't show everything.
Step 2: Check your policy

Step 3: Get a free inspection before the adjuster's estimate
We inspect the car under LED light boards and document every strike. A roof that looks fine in the driveway can show dozens of dents under the right light, and an estimate built on a full count covers the whole repair.
Step 4: File the claim and choose your shop

Step 5: We work with the adjuster
We deal with your insurance company directly. If the adjuster missed damage, we file a supplement so the repair covers everything, and you don't spend a week on hold.
Step 6: Rental and shuttle
We'll help set up your rental car and give you a shuttle ride to pick it up, then back again when your car is ready. If your policy includes rental coverage, we'll help you use it.
Step 7: Paintless repair, then pickup
Each dent is worked out from behind the panel, so your factory paint stays intact. Most hail repairs take 3 to 5 business days, and every panel is checked under LED light before we hand the keys back. If a strike cracked the paint, Collision Craftsman handles it at the same address.
